Breaking News – confirmed school closure due to coronavirus

We take the health and safety of our school community very seriously, Government have now made the decision to close all UK schools with effect from 15:30 on Friday 20^th March 2020 until further notice to minimise the further spread of coronavirus.

If you feel you are affected by this announced school closure or are one of the front line worker roles* defined by the Prime Minster as being vital to the infrastructure of the country, please contact the school urgently tomorrow morning by telephone 01942 487999.

We will keep all parents and carers informed of developments as they become clear following this evening announcement.

There will be a co-ordinated approach to providing free school meals and we will work with the DfE and our catering provider to manage this.

There will be no primary assessments in May 2020.

Educational arrangements – initial advice for parents / carers

To reduce the closure’s effect on pupils’ education, we have prepared alternative work provisions for pupils to complete at home from 15:30 on Friday 20^th March 2020. Work will be updated on Class Dojo by teachers for all pupils and work booklets will be sent to be completed electronically. If you are unable to access the internet at home, please also contact us by and we will look into alternative options for your child.

*Front-line workers means health workers, the police service and the fire service, but it also means that who are involved in food supply and other basic services such as food service delivery drivers.
