School Crossing Patrol

Important information from Wigan Council regarding the school crossing patrol.

Important information from Wigan Council regarding the school crossing patrol.

Dear Headteacher,

I wish to inform you that the School crossing Patrol will not be covered at Moss Lane, Liverpool Rd/Stanley Rd and Walthew lane.

Points across the borough are graded A to D with A being the highest and D being the lowest. Our policy states that we will always cover A and B grade crossings with those graded C and D when staffing levels allow. This policy has been practised since the service was established.

Operationally what this means is that if a member of staff is absent or if there is a vacant post and they are operating on a grade A or B crossing then a patrol from a grade C and D crossing is relocated to cover the higher grade to ensure our highest priority crossings are staffed.

Please would you assist us by notifying parents via a text as soon as possible and ask them to be extra vigilant when taking their children to and from school.

In addition to this I would like to share with you that a  recruitment drive is happening to ensure the current jobs can be recruited to. This will close on 14th February. All this will hopefully help to ensure cover is provided to the vacant points. I have attached the flyer in case anyone is interested in one of our vacant positions.

Thank you for your time.

Kind regards

Anouska
