National Education Union (NEU) national strike action

18 January 2023 (by admin)

On Monday 16th January 2023 members of the National Education Union (NEU) voted for strike action. Please see update below for how this impacts school.

18th January 2023

Dear Parents / Carers

You may be aware from national news that the National Education Union has confirmed that its teachers intend to strike in schools across England.

As a school we understand the pressures facing all of us, right now due to the challenge of high inflation and rising costs and understand that parents and carers will want to know how this might impact their children’s education and steps we're taking to support them.

We understand that the National Education Union will take part in strike action on:

Wednesday 1 February 2023
Tuesday 28 February 2023
Wednesday 15 March 2023
Thursday 16 March 2023

As the National Education Union is one of seven trade unions recognised by the school, we are taking all reasonable steps to keep the school open for as many pupils as possible.

Should the school need to confirm a partial or full school closure parents and carers will be advised by Class Dojo and Text Message.

For now, school plans to open as normal for all pupils in all year groups.

Any queries please contact the school office 01942 487999.
